I have to be honest. This picture was not taken on the 28th. There was no picture taken on the 28th. I’m actually not entirely sure what I did on that day. I imagine I woke up, applied to some jobs online, went to work, came home, ate, and went to bed. I did wake up at 5 a.m. the next morning though remembering the forgotten picture. I feel good that I made it almost half-way through the year without missing a day, but I am incredibly saddened that it had to happen. My apologies. But, look!! It’s fall in New York!!

I pass this store-front on my way to the subway after work. I don’t actually know if it is a store-front though. There doesn’t appear to be anything inside. Except maybe the DEVIL!

Eating out in New York gets old, fast. So for dinner I made homemade Cajun Chicken Pasta. Another recipe from allrecipes.com. It turned out well, although I should have let the sauce sit longer to thicken, and I wish I had grilled the chicken longer.

Oh, Oreos, how I love and adore you.

In the spirit of fall, I did some searching and found a pumpkin patch. It was way out in the middle of Queens, and it took over an hour to get there, but we wanted a piece of the countryside, an escape from the city. Unfortunately, so did hundreds of other New Yorkers. It was pretty packed. We had a good time. Fresh apple cider, farm animals, hay ride, nature. But, man, New Yorkers can be a real pain. They were all standing around in their designer clothes with their heavy accents, checking their blackberrys, whining about dirt. It was a fun day, but I could have done without the New Yorkers.

These are the iconic symbols associated with Shake Shack. It’s a new (I think) burger bar in Manhattan, kind of based off the same principal as In ‘N Out and Dicks. It’s a diner, it’s quick, but it’s delicious! You can smell it from a block away! Travis and I had a romantic dinner here, eating out on the patio, listening to Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” on his iphone. Afterward we went to a bar across the street that had a ping-pong table.

I had an interview with the website meetup.com. It’s a really great, steady, exactly-what-I’m-looking-for job with a really great company. The interview went so well that I have a second one coming up next week. I feel really good about it, but I don’t want to jinx it and have my heart broken if they decide I’m not a good fit. Either way, meetup.com is a great website, and I would recommend it to anyone. Basically it is an online forum for people with similar interests to find one another. I, for instance, am a part of a couple of writing groups, and Travis signed up for a guitar group. It’s a godsend for people like us, who are new to this huge city and want to find things to do.

My parents sent me this from Disneyland where they took their vacation. It kind of reminds me of their smiling faces.

I came home from work and felt pretty lazy. Watching “30 Rock” on Netflix, I took a picture of my ceiling fan and considered myself done for the day. When Travis came home, he gave me a lot of lip for not taking a good photo. So, still being lazy and not wanting to get off the couch, I took this. My apologies for nothing exciting, but I think I am allowed a lazy day.

For dinner we took leftover enchilada filling (cottage cheese, mozzarella, and sour cream) put it between two corn tortillas with some pepper-jack cheese and fried it. Basically a very fancy quesadilla, but we still named them “Travicitos,” after their creator.
