Mondays suck. Most everyone with the ol’ 9-5 agrees. At the hospital, it’s the craziest, busiest day. When I run into other Renown employees, we usually great each other with a standard “How’s it going?” On this particular day of the week the answer is always, “Ugh, it’s Monday.” The other person shrugs and agrees.
However, the shining light is that I always come home feeling down about another rough start to a week. I plop down in front of my computer, only to realize. “Yes! It’s Monday! The crossword today is going to be so easy!” It completely turns my day around, and for that I am very grateful on a weekly basis. I almost finished this one, but had a rough time with the bottom left corner. I usually can’t finish the Monday but can almost always manage to finish the Tuesday. An enigma in my life.
I always hated the “Ugh, it’s Monday” and “Well, it’s Friday!” I couldn’t figure out why, but Brehnen can be really insighful sometimes, and he says it’s because it’s something people without higher aspirations, whose only goal is literally day-to-day emotional management, say. And even if you’re not one of them, eventually you say it, too.
