My final day in Boston was spent in a rather ritzy neighborhood. Kate and I got pedicures, drank iced coffee, sat in the shade and watched an old man feed a flock of pigeons McDonald’s french fries. I remember coming to Boston for the first time and wandering around this exact square, taking pictures of tulips and exploring the library where my sister now works. It’s strange to me to think about myself then, how I had no idea what lay before me, that I would end up in New York City, working at a vet clinic, running off to Boston for a weekend getaway. Life is a strange thing.
